Voter registration deadline is Oct. 18
Thanks for your loyalty as a KU Alumni Association member. One of the most important roles of the Association and its members is to advocate for the University of Kansas. You can support KU and higher education in Kansas by voting in the general election Tuesday, Nov. 8. This year, every seat in the Kansas House and Senate is up for election.
I hope you will make support of higher education a key consideration as you cast your vote on Nov. 8. Please also urge your fellow citizens to participate in this pivotal election.
The voter registration deadline for the general election is Tuesday, Oct. 18. If you are not currently registered, you must complete the online form or submit a paper form to your county election office by that date.
If you cannot vote on Nov. 8, you can vote early. Early voting dates and locations may vary among counties, so please contact your local office for information on dates and polling places.
You also can request a mail-in ballot. The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail is Nov. 4, and all absentee ballots must be received by 7 p.m. Nov. 8.
If you would like to become more involved in legislative advocacy for KU, the Alumni Association coordinates a statewide network, Jayhawks for Higher Education. More than 1,700 alumni and friends are JHE members. They receive emails highlighting KU’s legislative priorities, and they take action on KU’s behalf at critical points throughout the legislative session. To add your voice to our advocacy efforts, please join JHE.
Thanks again for your Jayhawk loyalty—and Rock Chalk!
