Jayhawks spotted around the world

Posted on Jul 6, 2012 in Alumni News and News

Remember a few weeks ago when we shared our new feature, “Rockin’ the Crimson and Blue,” and asked you to send us pictures of KU fans showing off their spirit around the world?

Here’s a few of the responses we got on Facebook and Twitter:

“I was in the northern part of Paris, walking back to my hotel wearing a KU hat and I heard someone say ‘Hey! Rock Chalk!’ It was two Jayhawks, and we were staying at the same hotel”

“Where have I seen Jayhawks? The answer is everywhere I travel. Jayhawks in Orlando last week, Charleston last month. There are Jayhawks everywhere you travel.”

“I’ve seen a few here in Waikiki! Last time was at the #5 best beach bar in the world- Duke’s Waikiki.”

“Disney World is full of KU fans! Mickey, Minnie and Belle have all admitted to being Jayhawks!”

“I took a trip to Florence, Italy in 2006 and met another Jayhawk at a restaurant.”

“We were in Talkeetna, Ala., in March and saw lots of bald eagles and one Jayhawk!”

“I met someone wearing a Jayhawk T-shirt in Quito, Ecuador recently!”

“Saw another KU sticker on a car in Corvallis, Ore., today!”

“While waiting for my car to be fixed in Denton, Texas, I talked to a KU grad from the 60’s who was a doorman at The ‘Hawk.”

“What are the odds- I just met another Jayhawk at the Reno Rodeo!”

Jayhawks really are everywhere!

Have you spotted a Jayhawk during your summer travels? Or maybe you wore KU attire somewhere fun? We’d love to see a picture! Send it to us at share@kualumni.org and you could be featured here next.
