Homecoming week begins in just eleven short days! We hope that lots of loyal Jayhawks are planning to return to the Hill to help celebrate the festivities– but don’t worry, even if you can’t be here in person, you can still be here in spirit.
Alumni near and far are encouraged to participate in this year’s Homecoming events through social media. Whether you love to blog or prefer to share your thoughts in 140-character tweets, snap stylishly-filtered photos using Instagram or capture short snippets of video on Vine, we want to see Homecoming– either this year’s celebration or a look back in time– through your eyes.
Here’s how you can participate:
- Use the hashtag #kuhomecoming in your tweets, status updates and other posts to social media sites
- Email photos and stories to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
- Send us a link to your own blog posts about Homecoming and we’ll share them with alumni
We’re setting up a site to aggregate all of the social content that uses #kuhomecoming. It will be a quick and easy way for Jayhawks around the world to see what’s happening on campus, relive Homecoming memories and share their stories with others.
This year’s Homecoming theme, Jayhawks Around the World, celebrates the University’s global reach in terms of international students and faculty, research discoveries that change the world and the achievements of KU alumni, who live in 150 countries around the globe.
