My husband and I were set to take another “Flavors of” Flying Jayhawks trip. We were both excited and anxious because we were not sure if the second one would live up to the first, Flavors of Northern Italy. It felt like a reunion because half of a group were passengers we traveled with on our first trip, plus our same Italian travel guide, Marco, would be leading us again.

Well, turns out comparing these two trips is like trying to find your favorite gelato or favorite bottle of wine in Italy, it’s all Deliziosa! We stayed at Castello la Leccia, and I cannot say enough amazing things about the renovated castle. The views were something I have never seen before, the rolling hills seemed to go on for miles with the most stunning sunsets.  The accommodations were both updated and homey, the staff was kind and attentive, and the food was impeccable. We covered most of the Tuscany region, from rolling hills of grape vines to waves of golden wheat, the history and charm of each town captivated our entire group. All of this was only enhanced by the knowledge and charisma of our travel guide Marco.

I would highly recommend any “Flavors of” Flying Jayhawks trip and I’m counting the days until I can do my next.
