Presented annually during Homecoming, the Wintermote National Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes a KU alumni network leader who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and impact within a national alumni network during the current calendar year.
Named in honor of Dick Wintermote, c’51, who served as executive director of the KU Alumni Association from 1963 to 1983, this award celebrates his legacy of cultivating a dynamic volunteer network and helping establish the KU Alumni Association as one of the premier alumni organizations in the nation. Recipients exemplify the spirit of service, dedication, and Jayhawk pride that defined Wintermote’s leadership.
Nominees may also be considered for the Clodfelter Regional Volunteer of the Year Award if they meet the respective criteria.
