Jayhawks For Higher Education

Continue to urge support of Gov. Kelly’s proposed budget
Last week, Chancellor Doug Girod visited the Kansas Legislature to showcase KU’s unmatched statewide impact as an economic engine and provider of health care for Kansans.

Dear Jayhawks for Higher Education:

Last week, Chancellor Doug Girod visited the Kansas Legislature to showcase KU’s unmatched statewide impact as an economic engine and provider of health care for Kansans. He also highlighted the importance of the state’s continued investment in KU’s efforts.

As critical budget discussions continue in the Legislature, we’re sharing the Chancellor’s Feb. 15 presentation to the House Appropriations Committee; it includes important facts that will be helpful in your conversations with legislators. You can review the slide deck he shared with the committee, or watch a video of his testimony.

Please continue to encourage legislators to support Gov. Laura Kelly’s proposed higher education budget, which includes funding for:

  • the new KU Cancer Center
  • need-based student financial aid
  • tuition stabilization

Thanks for your commitment to KU and higher education.

Heath Peterson, d’04, g’09
President, KU Alumni Association
