Homecoming

KU sets dates for Homecoming 2024
The University of Kansas will celebrate its 112th Homecoming Oct. 14-20, culminating in the KU football game against Houston Saturday, Oct. 19, at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Although KU’s home football games this fall will be played in the Greater Kansas City area because of ongoing construction of the Gateway District and David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, this year’s Homecoming celebration will include traditional events on the Lawrence campus as well as activities in Kansas City. As planning continues, organizers will be mindful of the observance of the Jewish holiday Sukkot on Wednesday, Oct. 16, and Thursday, Oct. 17.

The KU Alumni Association and the Homecoming Steering Committee will coordinate this year’s activities, led by Paige Freeman, the Association’s director of student and young alumni engagement, and Ryan Edmonds, assistant director of student programs. Students who are interested in serving on the committee can visit kualumni.org/homecoming-steering-form. KU’s Homecoming tradition began in 1912.

Homecoming leaders will meet in the coming weeks to select a theme and finalize the schedule. Highlights of the celebration will be the selection of student finalists and recipients for the Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership (ExCEL) Awards and the Jennifer Alderdice Homecoming Award.

Homecoming 2024 is presented by Central Bank of the Midwest. Sponsors also include Konica Minolta and Pepsi.

The KU Alumni Association will update kualumni.org/homecoming as information becomes available. As campus organizations solidify their own plans for Homecoming events, or for those who want to suggest ideas for the celebration, please email the committee at homecoming@kualumni.org.

ExCEL awards nominees are recognized on the field at Homecoming 2022.
