The University of Kansas Alumni Association and Kansas Athletics are planning “Hawks & Highways” gatherings this summer in several Kansas communities, beginning in Dodge City.
KU will welcome guests in Dodge City from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 20, at the Boot Hill Distillery, 501 W. Spruce St. The free event will feature a DJ and face painting, and guests can take photos with the NCAA men’s basketball national championship trophy.
KU representatives will include Athletics Director Travis Goff, Coach Lance Leipold of Kansas Football and Alumni Association President Heath Peterson.
Hawks & Highways continues a multiyear effort to expand and strengthen outreach across the state. Additional events will occur in Wichita (July 25), Salina (July 26), and Kansas City (Aug. 12 in Corinth Square).
